Why do we raise funds? The school district provide only so much school funding for our program and to have the coaching/facilities that is needed, the BHS Baseball Booster Club must raise funds.
Fundraised Money goes to pay for the following:
Every Year Expenses - covering part of the cost of Spring Trip
- purchase the hats/jersey's for the players
- awards/plaques for recognition of achievements of the players
- coach stipends for assistant coaches
- end of year banquets
- purchase of sporting goods equipment for the teams (baseballs, hitting t’s,
- rental of Alimagnet field for games
- maintenance of BHS fields
The 2015 field improvements include a retaining wall put in at the BHS Field, a bull pen and turf coming. New fencing and netting will cover the stands to keep balls from hitting fans, and going into the tennis courts.
2013 improvements include the demolition of the old yellow storage / concession building (currently underway), which will be replaced with a much larger and more secure storage/concession building. Additional improvements being considered for 2013 year is the construction of new bull pens along the third base dugout side, and purchase of a new portable batting cage (2013 Home Run Club goal).
The 2012 fundraising season was highlighted by significant improvements, specifically to the playing surfaces of both the Varsity and Junior Varsity fields. In addition, the program purchased a golf course style mower and new infield utility vehicle with grooming attachments to help maintain quality playing surfaces.
Thank You to all Blaze baseball families, players and fans for making these goals achievable through our fundraising efforts. A special thank you is extended to the Burnsville Traveling baseball program for their continued partnership and support.
